Thanksgiving Point

Last week I took the children on a trip to Thanksgiving Point Museum down in Lehi. Since we didn't have swim lessons or any other daily commitments I thought it would be the perfect time to seize the day and do something fun!

Here's the kids out front of the museum...
That's one BIG bone...
The boys thought the bone was pretty neat too!
This was one of my favorite exhibits because it was a big sea turtle monster...I don't love monsters, but I do love sea turtles and this was the closest thing to that! =)

Dino Fun!

The kids had a great time at Thanksgiving Point. We went to the 3-D Sea Rex movie and the kids sure thought that was neat. It was quite educational and I think the kids learned a lot on our little field trip! I've wanted to take the kids to the museum since we moved here last summer and it just hasn't worked out so I was glad we were finally able to go! We spent the morning enjoying the museum and all the neat exhibits.

Sand Table

I think the kids could have stayed at this table for an hour! Cameron was creating erosion in his little area of the table and the other kids were adding their touches to the landscape as well, this was a fun place!

Dallyn poses like a dinosaur...
And Kyler wanted to be in on the photos too!

Dino Digs

Don't my kids look terrified of this shark??
They had a good time digging for dinosaur bones in the dig area....

and building their own dinosaur in design-a-dino....

Cabellas

After our trip to Thanksgiving Point we went to Cabellas and had a picnic with Amy's family out on the lawn. Afterwards we took the kids to see all the neat animals at Cabellas. You would think it was a museum, they just love it!! Bella especially liked the fish so we went in there several times!
Bella really liked the room with the deer...so we took a few group photos...
One with Aunt Heidi....
The boys thought this would be a fun boat to ride in if they had the chance!!

Family Trip to Cherry Hill

We took a family trip to Cherry Hill today. We had planned to go in July but given my recent health issues we decided to take a trip today. We invited Amy's family up for the day. We have not been to a water park since I was pregnant with Kyler, so needless to say it's been a few years. This park was small and just had a few slides but it was perfect for our family and for our kids that don't know much else since we don't ever take them to water parks! They were in heaven and it was a mostly headache free day so I was HAPPY!

Here's a family photo with the kids under the waterfall...

Mom and Kaylie enjoying some lunch time relaxation...
Little Abby enjoying some shade..her and Bella were so cute in their matching swimsuit coverups!!

WaterSlide

The older kids just loved the water slide. Here they are enjoying their last run of the day!

It was so fun having Amy, Austin and the girls with us. Bella was having fun eating chips..I had a hard time getting her to look at the camera. She had a lot of fun splashing in the pool with the kids and she enjoyed the lazy river too!
The kids having a break during lunch time..

Lazy River

The kids really enjoyed the lazy river. We went around it many times during our visit today! Here's a few photos of the kids enjoying the their float....

This was Kyler's favorite spot at Cherry Hill...he loved to go down the Pirate Slide...Dallyn did too but I didn't get any photos of him!
Yeah for Kyler!!

NOT a fun way to watch Toy Story!

Well, we took our kids to see Toy Story 3 yesterday and I was really excited to see it. I'm still looking foward to seeing it now that I missed my chance yesterday....I guess I'll have to wait for it to come to video..let me back up...

Saturday I found myself in misery with another seizure..I've been seizure free since May 2nd so I wasn't too happy about this new development. Sunday and Monday I ended up with really bad headaches plaguing me for a good portion of the day. Yesterday I had 3 different headaches.

As you can guess the third headache came during the movie. It was so awful I was considering how to to get myself to the E R. I just couldn't stand it! I only made it about 20 minutes into the movie and by that time I was in tears and had to leave the theater. I don't think sobbing is part of the experience of being at the movies. This is the first time we've taken our kids since Cars came out when Dallyn was a baby so this was SAD for me to not be there with my kids.

But I went out to the car and suffered for the next hour till I was able to get home. The pain decreased about 10 minutes before we left the movies and I was so grateful, at least my kids didn't have to see me crying!

So I am now taking Tylenol preventively and I've increased my steroid use from 1 1/2 to 3 mg a day....URGH...I'm not happy about it but the pain I endured yesterday was just too much for me. So I've resorted to drastic measures. But I'm sad...really sad its come to this...

Additional Note: Today I talked to my nurse and told her about my seizure on Sat...like I expected she has told me that I need to go on anti-seizure meds....so later today I'll go pick those up. I'm discouraged. I don't want to be a druggie and I don't want to have seizures. I've been through this enough I think. But I guess its not about what I want.. =(

Bike Riding

I forgot to blog these photos of our family bike ride! We had a really fun time biking together. Kyler stayed with Grandma and Grandpa and the rest of us went for a ride!
Here's Kaylie and I chugging up the hill...

Kaylie and Scott ended up riding an extra two miles after the boys and I stopped and turned around. We were wiped!! Kaylie and Scott found some deer when they went on ahead.
Here's my boys...taking a break at the top of a steep hill...it was a lot of work but boy was it fun!

Kindergarten Boy

This is my darling Kindergarten Boy! I just can't believe he is almost 6! This was him on his next to last day of school.
Here's he and Cameron on their last day of school---Kaylie is homeschooled--or was--so she isn't in the photo. I like to take a before and after photo!
Here's Dallyn with his fabulous teacher Mrs. Crofts. He had such a great Kindergarten year. I really hope the same for all three of my kids next year!! I know Kyler will have a great preschool since he gets Miss Linda (Aunt Linda) this fall but I'm hopeful for the other kids teachers as well!

Zions National Park

We really enjoyed our half day in Zions Park. We hope to return in a few years when our kids are older and we'll do a few more hikes up there and we'll see all the things we missed this time. We ate lunch near a stream and it was so pretty! Here's the kids enjoying the view!

Here's the kids up at the Weeping Rock. It was really neat it seemed like it was raining under this overhang..it was really pretty! The photos don't do it justice!!
Another view of from the hike down from Weeping Cave.
