Snow Fun with the Freemans

Saturday our family had a great time spending the afternoon and evening with the Freeman Family (except Jackie...we missed you!). They invited us up to Park City and they found us a slightly steep, but exciting, sledding hill. They are a serious ski family so they were gracious enough to stoop to our level and settle for a simple sledding afternoon instead. Maybe by next year we'll be seasoned enough to join them on the ski slopes!

Here's one of the kids in our group...oh no wait, that's our friend Rick, he's just acting like one of the kids as he is sledding down the mountain without a sled. His wife Heidi is looking on from below, hoping that he doesn't break a leg...literally!

Afterwards we went back to their ski condo for food and fun. Here are the boys enjoying their homemade pizzas! Rick and Heidi (yes I have a friend named Heidi and I'm getting used to that..never had a friend named Heidi before!) were such great hostesses!! Our family had such a great time!! Next time the getaway will be on us....maybe camping with our trailer and we can make a dutch oven dinner and roast marshmallows???? That'll have to wait a few months though!

Snow Fun!

Kyler LOVED sledding and here he is saying "On your Mark, get set, go!" By the end of the afternoon he was brave enough to go down on the tube by himself!

Here he is cruising..at the bottom he'd say "I crossed the finish line first! All the other guys are still at the top!" I think that comes from watching a lot of Olympics with the family! He saw different skiing/snowboarding events and so he knows about the finish line!

Cameron did a penguin ride down the mountain without a sled and about gave Mom a heart attack. Thank goodness he was wearing a helmet!

He said he'll be more sensible next time and not scare Mom like that again!! Sometimes boys can be a bit too adventurous!

More Fun Sledding

Early Spring Cleaning

Sunday we had my sister and her family over to visit which is always so fun! Here's my darling niece Bella with her two sippy cups that she was so happy about.

Here's the kids on Monday night with the yummy fruit pizza our friends made for us!! Thanks Freemans! We enjoyed it two nights in a row...yummy!! The kids thought it looked so neat that we needed to take a photo!

So Kaylie and I have been doing some early spring cleaning which has involved unpacking some of those boxes that I'd rather not tackle..you know the type don't you? Well, it was a HUGE TASK but we got through a few boxes of keepsake papers, etc. and found this poster Kaylie's friends in CA made for her when she broke her leg when she was 8. This is my new rule for keepsake type papers...if it can't fit into the box, then we take a picture of it and toss the paper out! This way we aren't overrun by papers!!

So we did the same for some of my 'keepsake' items such as this DARLING poster that the activity day girls made with my good friend Cherise as a welcome home poster after my surgery back in October. I love the poster but it was too big to fit in the box...so we took a photo of it!! So as you can see we've got a good start on our spring cleaning!

I just registered for the Salt Lake City Race for the Cure!! I'm excited to walk in my third race and this year Scott and all my kids will be in the race with me!! I'm looking forward to this day!! Flashbacks from 2009

So I was going through some photos of highlights from my life one year ago. This was a fun memory..wish we could do this again! This is from my getaway to the cabin to scrapbook with some dear friends. This was part of my 'Yeah I'm off Steroids Celebration" and I miss you all so much!! Thanks for being such great friends!

This was our off-track time last year when the kids were on year-round school. The boys enjoyed stamping cards with me! It was so fun!

Teaching preschool for Dallyn's group was a major part of my life. Here's those cute friends of Dallyn's that we miss so much!

My friend Lisa had just had baby Ava about a year ago. We've been friends since high school. It was fun to get together and meet Ava. Now Ava is one year old and Marisa, on the far left, has a baby of her own, born this January..baby Gavin. Wow! How much changes in a years time!! It's fun to flashback in time... =0)

Crazy Sock Day!

If you are wondering what would possess my 8 year old to wear silly knee high socks to school, then you must know that this week is Dr. Seuss week at school. Today was crazy sock day. Dallyn was happy with wearing mismatched socks. His siblings wanted him to get a little more crazy, but he was content with that. Cameron ended up changing into shorts at the last minute so his crazy socks would be more obvious. I just chuckled as I watched him walk across the street to school this morning!!

Cam is playing on the Jr. Jazz basketball team and he has a wonderful coach, the best ever!!
