Coupon Crazed!

Well, during the past few months I've become this coupon CRAZED shopper and I'm amazed at how much I'm saving and how my perspective on grocery shopping has changed. My sister Amy and I are a little nutty about couponing and we are always sharing our tips and ideas with each other. She posted some of her exciting deals on her blog so I thought I'd do the same on mine!! (Can you tell I'm a little nuts??)

So first of all, I do price matching at Wal Mart a few times a month and last week I caught some great deals. When I checked out my total was $90.40 and then after my 22 coupons my total was $70.20!! Can you believe that?? I saved $20 simply with manufacturer coupons! Then when I got home I added up my price matching savings..that is the money I saved by having them adjust the prices on certain products I bought to match the competitor's pricing. I saved $13.50 doing this...so aside from the fact that I was already getting WalMart low prices on things, I then saved an additional $34.50 with price matching and couponing!! That's not bad for one week!!

Here are some of my great deals after coupons/price matching combined:
**Rotini Pasta .25 cents a box**
**Flipz Choc Pretzels .48 cents a bag**
*Frosted Mini Wheats .99 cents a box**
**Free Pasta Sauce**
**Pillsbury Biscuits .69 cents**
**Smart Balance Sour Cream .49 cents**
And the best one....with a $3 coupon off Snuggle I got a box of 80 dryer sheets for just .48 cents! Yippee!!

I just started subscribing to the newspaper in March and I also subscribe to some coupon websites and I've been saving a BOODLE!! It's so exciting!! At least I think so...after all, a penny saved is a penny earned! =)

Heidi,
I just started reading about this, and I'd love to hear more of your tips. We're (hopefully) buying a house soon, so I'm looking for ways to save a little (or a lot). I did try my hand at CVS the other day and saved about $20 by shopping their sales and stocking up and got $13 of their ???"bucks" back (forgetting what they're called now), to use on my next purchase. I felt like I did pretty good, but I only ended up using 1 coupon that I had b/c I got to the store and found better deals there. Anyway, I've read over the couponmom blog, but am a little overwhelmed on how to really get going....
