The kids loved riding the boat and they let you stand up as they were going so you could see the whales and they would stop when they saw a lot and you could watch them and take photos, etc. It was so neat. Who needs to go to school when you can have a whale expert on your boat with you teaching you all about whales and getting to have this up close and personal experience with them. It was really amazing.
One of the coolest things was that a Humpback whale came right underneath the boat and then it started singing underneath where we were. The tour guide got out a microphone and put it in the water so we could hear it louder. It was unreal!! I felt like it was a tape recording but it was the whale under our boat!!!!!! They said this is only the 3rd time this season that they have heard one like that without the microphone so they have gone to get a microphone to hear it better. I couldn’t believe it. The crazy thing is it sounds just like Dory in Finding Nemo. The tour guide asked my kids if they had seen that movie and talked to them some about the similarities. It really did sound like Dory trying to communicate and speak “Whale” on the movie. Who would have thought? I was so sick by that point that I missed seeing the whale going under our boat but I got to hear it. Scott got to see it and he said the scales were so shiny and it was beautiful. Wow..what a neat day!
