Kyler was so cute trying 'snorkeling' with Dad. Wanted to be just like the big kids. He'll tell you all about how he saw 'big fishes' in the water. Did he really, I'm not so sure??
He rode around on Scott's back and looked over his shoulder to see the fish in the water. It was so very cute and Kyler was SOO excited to be snorkeling!! He did this a few times and it was really sweet...a way to help our four year old feel like he is a part of the excitement in Hawaii too!
The kids all snorkeled for awhile at this great beach. After a bit Kaylie got cut on some coral and had some good war wounds. So she was ready to go back and so was Grandma. So I stayed at the beach with Scott and the boys and took photos chatted with them while they played. I got back to the timeshare about 3 pm and Pam and I went shopping with Kaylie. She had wanted to go shopping one day so we thought we would do it Thursday afternoon. I had wanted to take Kaylie to Hilo Hattie’s which was a store that I remember going to with my sister when we came to Hawaii as youth. They still give you shell lei when you arrive and they give you juice and chocolates. We enjoyed that and we went all through the store and looked at everything there so that was fun.
When we got in there one of the sales ladies gave Kaylie a coupon for 50% off getting an oyster pearl. You could open the oyster and then see what color pearl you got. Kaylie wasn’t sure she wanted to do that since she only had a certain amount of spending money. So we walked away and started to do something else. Well then Grandma Wright wanted to get a pearl so we came back to watch her. She got a pretty black pearl that looked green to me. While Grandma was getting it set into a necklace Kaylie and I went and window shopped, as we didn’t end up getting anything at Hilo Hattie’s but we had a fun time looking!
Anyhow, a few minutes later Grandma called Kaylie over. So I went over to see what was going on. The clerk had told Pam that she would let her granddaughter pick one for free since Pam had purchased a necklace. So Kaylie got to choose an oyster and have it opened up. When it was opened it turned out she had 2 pearls in hers!! To me they seemed to have a dark blue hue to them, it was really pretty! So then the sales lady tried to convince Kaylie, or rather me, to purchase two $40 necklaces to set the pearls in so that Kaylie and I could have matching mother and daughter necklaces. I of course didn’t buy them but Kaylie still got to keep the pearls. We had holes put in them so at some point if Kaylie wants to she can have them made into necklaces, I’m not sure what that entails but for now she has the beautiful pearls so that was fun for her!
