It's a Miracle! (Click photo to see a larger view!)

Yesterday we had the follow up apt with my Doctors as we usually do every few months. We were hoping that the chemo might be working, but we knew that the chances of that weren't very likely. However we were not prepared for what we found when we saw the scan of my brain. Here is the photo:

Now let me explain what you are looking at. The photo on the right is the scan from 3/7/11 and all the white stuff you see is cancerous tumor growing in my brain. You can see how the tumor is growing on the artery in the middle of my brain. So as you can see the scan should be totally free of whiteness.

Now if you look at the photo on the left hand side of the screen you will see the miracle we experienced yesterday. This is the photo of my scan from yesterday. The tumor has SHRUNK! For those of you that aren't sure...let me just tell you that this has never before happened. In my 2 1/2 years of battling this brain tumor it has never shrunk!! So this is truly amazing.

The reason they put me on this brain chemo was to STOP the growth of a very aggressive tumor that had been growing since at at least Sept after my surgery. This chemo was NOT supposed to shrink anything...just control it....WOW!!

My doctors could not explain it and they were just speechless! Needless to say Scott and I are in a great deal of shock as well! Since it looks like the chemotherapy I started taking in March is working I will continue on that chemo until it looks like it isn't working. In other words it is indefinite. Right now my doctors will be changing the dosages so I won't be suffering so much from the side effects.

So still have a crazy road ahead of me but we feel VERY blessed to have received such amazing news!! I am living proof that miracles do happen. I'm grateful for the blessings in my life and now I do have a reason to smile! =)
