Well now I officially have a child that has graduated from Elementary School and is headed to Junior High in a few months! How did this happen? Kaylie's 6th grade Commencement was this week so I wanted to share some photos from that with you!
Here is Kaylie on her Graduation day!
Each of the three teachers of 6th graders asked one student in their class to speak at Graduation. Kaylie was chosen to speak at her graduation. She gave a great talk!! Wish I could share it here but Scott did record it for posterity! =)Here is Kaylie on her Graduation day!
Kaylie giving her commencement address to the students and parents as the Principal and her teacher listen in the background.
Kaylie walks across the podium as they announce her accomplishments and awards. (I'm not even sure what she got...but she did bring home a few certificates!) I was too busy taking photos!!
Kaylie receives her Diploma from her wonderful teacher, Mrs. Beer. Notice the Eagle in the background, they are the Centerville Eagles. There was a great program for the graduation. After the three talks they showed a slide show of the 6th grade class at various activities. Then they presented the diplomas. After that process they had a final slide show presentation showing each graduating student as a baby, toddler and 6th grader. It was really fun to see that! What a great bunch of kids! =)
Kaylie had a FABULOUS teacher, Mrs. Beer, for 6th grade. She has been so wonderful to Kaylie and Kaylie has loved being in her class!! I'm so grateful Kaylie got to have such a fabulous experience in her 6th grade year!
Kaylie has had a very full week this week!! Last month the principal asked Kaylie if she would sing the National Anthem on the last day of school before the flag ceremony that ends the school year. Kaylie was nervous about the really high parts (have you heard how high that song goes?? I can't even do it!) however she pulled it off and did a great job!!
A few of the scouts performed the retiring of the flag which was presented to a retiring teacher at Centerville El. I've heard such great things about her, I wish Dallyn could have had her next year..she was a 2nd grade teacher! I guess retiring is part of life though!
Yet another shot of Kaylie singing...notice her patriotic outfit...
It was a great way to end the school year!! Congratulations to Kaylie and her class of 2011!
