Aloha!

Looking back I actually never blogged about our Christmas gifts this year. So I figured I should update since we are about to use our gift from 2010! Here are the children getting ready to open their one gift from Mom and Dad on Christmas morning!

Kaylie is starting to look excited....Cam is still trying to figure out..what is it??
Yeahoo!! The children got tickets to go to Hawaii in February!! We are going with Grandma and Grandpa Wright and staying at their timeshare on Maui for a week!
The older kids got a snorkel set along with their ticket and the younger boys got binoculars to use for whale watching! Everyone is so very excited about this amazing opportunity!! Mom and Dad are excited too! Going to Hawaii as a family has been a dream for Mom and Dad. Although ideally we would have waited a few more years until our children were older and could all swim without water wings, we needed to seize the day due to Heidi's health and its unpredictability. When we found out the tumor had re-grown in October we started making plans to take this trip. So we took my in laws up on their offer to stay at their timeshare, found a great deal on plane tickets (after a month of looking) and and then took the plunge!! We had planned the trip around 2 days the kids were supposed to have off in Feb. Due to budget cuts they had 2 days off...then the budget came back and so now they have school...oh well, we are still going to Hawaii! My kids just have lots of schoolwork to do while we travel.....but its worth it to get to spend a week in Hawaii!! Aloha!

How Exciting!! We just took Ava to Kauai last Nov (before she was 2 and we had to pay for her ticket). We had so much fun and I bet you will too. It is smart to travel with the grandparents for built in babysitters. We went with my parents and had a great time together. Rich and I also were able to be alone a few times which was nice. I hope you all have a great time!

Have a wonderful time. I hope you actually get to relax and take your mind off of your health for a brief moment. Be safe. Can't wait to hear/see all about it when you get home.
